Every Taylor Sheridan show in order, including the two he did not create

The question sounds simple, and most pages answering it get the same two things wrong. They hand Taylor Sheridan credit for shows he did not create, and they hand out premiere dates that no network has announced. So here is the slate as it actually stands on August 5, 2026, from the press releases rather than from other lists.

Release order

Twelve titles in eight years. Eleven of them still live at Paramount, which is not an accident: Sheridan's television deal there runs through 2028, whatever you may have read about his next address. More on that below.

The Dutton story in timeline order

For the family saga specifically, Paramount+ publishes its own viewing-order guide, and it contains exactly five titles.

1. 1883. The wagon journey west. Sam Elliott, Tim McGraw, Faith Hill. One season.
2. 1923. The ranch two generations on, with Harrison Ford and Helen Mirren. Two seasons.
3. Yellowstone. The modern story. Five seasons, finished in December 2024.
4. Marshals. Luke Grimes carries Kayce Dutton onto CBS as a broadcast procedural.
5. Dutton Ranch. Kelly Reilly and Cole Hauser continue Beth and Rip's story, joined by Ed Harris and Annette Bening.

Notice who is missing. The Madison, the Michelle Pfeiffer and Kurt Russell series that half the internet calls a Yellowstone spinoff, does not appear in Paramount's own franchise guide. The company sells it as its own thing. Worth remembering the next time a list folds it into the Dutton timeline.

Who actually created what

This is where the internet is sloppiest, and the studio's own credits are unambiguous.

• Yellowstone is co-created by Taylor Sheridan and John Linson. Not Sheridan alone. The 2021 press release from Paramount says so itself.
• Mayor of Kingstown is co-created with Hugh Dillon, who also acts in it.
• Landman is co-created with Christian Wallace, whose podcast the show is based on.
• Tulsa King is a Sheridan creation with Terence Winter, of The Sopranos, as its original showrunner.
• Lawmen: Bass Reeves was created for television by Chad Feehan. Sheridan executive-produced it, and that is the whole of his credit.
• Dutton Ranch was also created by Feehan, based on characters created by Sheridan and Linson. Its 12.9 million global viewers in the first week made it the biggest original series launch in Paramount+ history, a record set by a show whose creator most viewers could not name.

So of the twelve titles above, at least two of the ones routinely attributed to Sheridan are, by Paramount's own credits, another writer's creations. Calling this the Sheridan-verse is fine shorthand. Treating him as sole author of all of it is just wrong.

Small oddities the credits do not show

• Tulsa King was renewed for season 4 on September 17, 2025, four days before season 3 premiered.
• The Madison was renewed for season 3 in April 2026 while season 2, already fully shot, had no premiere date. Four months later it still has none.
• Frisco King began life in July 2025 as NOLA King, set in New Orleans, then changed name and state to Frisco, Texas. Samuel L. Jackson stars either way.
• The Yellowstone finale's widely quoted 11.4 million same-day viewers were measured by VideoAmp, not Nielsen, because Paramount was in a dispute with Nielsen at the time. Almost nobody quoting the number mentions that.

About that billion-dollar move

In late October 2025, Deadline and others reported that Sheridan is leaving Paramount for NBCUniversal in a package reported at more than a billion dollars: films from 2026, television from the end of 2028, when his current Paramount TV deal runs out. The Hollywood Reporter noted at the time that neither studio nor Sheridan had officially confirmed it, and we found no confirmation since.

The practical upshot is smaller than the headlines. Every show in the table stays where it is for years. If you are waiting on Landman season 3 or Mayor of Kingstown's finale, the deal changes nothing you will notice.
