Take a red pen to November 26. Amazon MGM has scheduled Madden to stream on Prime Video on Wednesday, November 18, 2026, according to an August 7 release report from Variety. The movie is expected to play in a limited number of theaters earlier in November for awards qualification, but it will not receive a nationwide theatrical run. Variety published the new plan.

Why November 26 is still floating around

Release calendars do not all update at once. GamesRadar's movie list and The Numbers database still displayed November 26 when checked on August 8. GamesRadar places the film on that date, and The Numbers lists the same older video-release date. Those entries appear not to have absorbed the newer August 7 announcement.

There is useful independent corroboration for the change. TV Insider's Madden listing now gives a November 18 premiere on Prime Video. Its listing matches Variety's date and platform. When two current pages agree and two directories lag, the fresh announcement wins the calendar argument.

The cinema details are not finished

The limited theatrical release is an expectation, not a complete schedule. No exact cinema date, theater list or participating city was named in Variety's August 7 report. A listing from a local venue will be the useful confirmation for anyone hoping to see Nicolas Cage's John Madden and Christian Bale's Al Davis on a large screen. Until then, November 18 is the date that can be put on a home-viewing calendar.

Who will be on the screen

Cage leads as coach and broadcaster John Madden, with Bale as Raiders leader Al Davis. Kathryn Hahn plays Virginia Madden, John Mulaney plays Electronic Arts founder Trip Hawkins, and Sienna Miller plays Carol Davis. David O. Russell directs from his screenplay. Escape Artists confirmed those principal roles when production began in May 2025.

A football movie arriving on a Wednesday may feel like a small scheduling fake-out. It also creates a pleasant setup: whistle, game controller and remote control on the same coffee table, ready well before Thanksgiving. Just circle the eighteenth, gently, in case the theater list gives the month one more surprise.
