Fortnite Override Collabs: What the Teasers Actually Confirm

Peely has sprinted, fished and summoned falling blocks through a week of tiny trailers. Here is the unusually fun crossover lineup the screen evidence supports, plus the names that remain rumors.

On August 10, a yellow banana in red running shoes tore around a grassy loop. On August 11, he went fishing beside a little campfire. Colored blocks gathered overhead on August 12. By August 13, Joker from Persona 5 had stepped into view. Fortnite has introduced Chapter 7 Season 4 as a run of compact sight gags, and Peely has done nearly all the field work. It is a good job for him. A solemn mascot would make the speculation feel awfully grand. The banana keeps it at the proper temperature.

The new season, called Override in the published teasers, is set for August 20, 2026. The exact launch clock had not been announced as of August 14, according to VICE's downtime guide. That distinction matters. A date is public. A specific hour circulating through fan accounts is still an estimate.

Four crossovers have made it onto the screen

The cautious answer is also the useful one: current public teasers support Sonic the Hedgehog, 99 Nights in the Forest, Tetris and Persona 5. They do not yet establish every Outfit, shop bundle, item name or game rule that might accompany those brands. Seeing a character or a visual motif confirms a collaboration. It does not quietly confirm the rest of somebody's wish list.

Screen evidence available through August 14, 2026, separated from assumptions and leak reports.

Sonic gets speed, scenery and a hovering friend

The first Sonic clip has Peely wearing familiar red footwear and racing through a landscape that borrows the rounded grass, checkerboard earth and looped path language of Green Hill. The initial report stopped short of claiming a Sonic Outfit, which is sensible. Shoes and scenery are visible. A playable blue hedgehog is not.

A follow-up gave the collaboration a more specific collectible: Tails is presented as a Sidekick, floating with his twin tails in the brief clip. Sidekick Tails is the clearest announced product detail in the Sonic portion so far. The delightful part is that the reveal understands the character before it tries to sell a checklist. Tails hovers. Peely runs. The joke works even with the sound off.

A campfire cameo keeps 99 Nights mysterious

The 99 Nights in the Forest teaser is quieter. Peely fishes beside a campfire before the Roblox game's recognizable deer figure enters the frame. It establishes the guest brand, but not much else. No reviewed announcement specifies whether the collaboration is primarily an item, a location, a cosmetic set or some mixture. That blank space is worth preserving instead of decorating with guesses.

Tetris brings a verb instead of merely a costume

Tetris is the most charming translation in the bunch. Its teaser places block shapes in the air above the island, apparently through a usable item. The clip does not publish a formal item name or a complete rule set. What it does show is more interesting than a logo on a shirt: the guest game gets to bring its defining action into Fortnite's space. Blocks fall. Players below will presumably have opinions about where they land.

That choice fits Tetris particularly well. Its official history describes a puzzle born in 1984 around pieces that descend and must be arranged. Forty-two years later, the same basic motion can be read instantly in a completely different game. The companion Tetris piece in this package keeps the confirmed footage separate from the mechanics Fortnite has not explained.

Joker is visible, but the rest of the Phantom Thieves are not

Persona 5 joined the run on August 13. Joker appears in the published teaser, so the lead character belongs in the supported column. Claims about additional Phantom Thieves, a larger set of accessories or a particular Battle Pass slot go beyond that footage. Those details may eventually be right. On August 14, they are not equally confirmed.

The leaked list is not the guest list

This rollout arrived after weeks of leak reporting. A July 22 report from Video Games Chronicle described a possible gaming-legends theme. On July 30, VICE summarized a datamined list that included Sonic, Dr. Eggman, Joker, Mega Man, Tetris and Pac-Man. Several names from those reports have since appeared in teasers. That improves the leakers' batting average. It does not turn every untouched name into an announcement.

A cheerful handoff before August 20

Players who would rather collect than speculate have a concrete plan for the final stretch. The published Sprite Spree schedule begins with two Mythic windows on August 15, followed by four daily featured Sprite periods through the August 20 transition. It is an especially friendly closing ritual because it gives collectors known times. Separately, VICE's season preview reports that collections will move into the next season's Sprite Garden.

For Override itself, the next dependable evidence will be the launch material and patch notes. Until then, this teaser campaign has already found its best recurring bit: Peely as the silent test pilot for other games' most recognizable ideas. He can wear the shoes, hold the fishing rod and stand beneath the blocks without pretending that a rumor is a fact. Few bananas are that versatile.
