Adria Arjona Would Play Bix Caleen Again, but Only if Tony Gilroy Is
Fans keep asking whether the Andor mechanic comes back. Adria Arjona's answer has stayed the same for months, and it has almost nothing to do with a greenlight.
Bix Caleen got one of the most talked-about endings in modern Star Wars, and almost immediately the question started. Will she come back? I have read every version of Adria Arjona's answer, and the real story is not the yes or the no. It is the loyalty underneath.
Arjona has been asked about a Bix spinoff for months now, and her answer has stayed remarkably consistent. She is open to it. She would love it, even, and she has joked that she would happily come back to the role at 75. But every warm answer lands on the same condition, and that condition is a person, not a contract.
Part of why the question will not die is what Bix represents. In a galaxy of Jedi and pilots, she was the person running a small business while an empire closed in, and Andor let her fear and her resolve carry real weight. Audiences do not want to say goodbye to that, which is exactly why the answer matters so much.
The condition is a person
That person is Tony Gilroy, the writer who created Andor and shaped Bix's whole arc. Arjona told the Hollywood Reporter she is the most loyal Gilroy there is, and that she is right there if he is. In another interview she put the same idea more carefully, saying any return would have to be about who is involved. I keep circling that phrase because it is doing more work than it looks like.
Why she will not touch the ending
Here is the contrast that makes her interesting to me. Fans want the story to keep going. Arjona wants to protect the story that already landed. She has said it feels too soon, and that she does not want to put her fingerprints on an ending she respects. Most actors chase the franchise machine; she is politely holding the door open for one specific writer and no one else.
The pitch that explains everything
The loyalty did not come from nowhere. Arjona once called Gilroy to pitch her own story ideas for the final season, riding a wave of confidence. He shut her down with a line she has since repeated fondly, telling her it was not this movie. She replied, by her account, 'Damnit. Okay.' The fact that she tells that story warmly, not bitterly, tells you everything about why she keeps saying it would have to be Gilroy.
I have written about enough actors to know how rare that is. Getting rejected by a creator usually stings, and people hide it. Arjona turns it into the reason she trusts him. That is the actual headline underneath all the spinoff chatter, and it is the part I would want a fan to read first.
What actually happens next
For now, the honest answer is that nothing has been announced. Lucasfilm has no confirmed Bix spinoff in development, and Arjona's calendar is full anyway, with Onslaught in theaters on September 4, 2026 and Man of Tomorrow filming toward a July 9, 2027 release. I read the tea leaves the way she does: if Gilroy ever wants to tell more of that story, she will be there. If he does not, neither is she. The door is not shut so much as it is being held by one very loyal person.
There is something quietly lovely about that. In a franchise era built on announcing the next ten things, one actor is standing still and saying the only thing that would move her is the right person at the controls. I will take that kind of loyalty over a hundred greenlit spinoffs, and I think most Andor fans, who already know what careful storytelling bought them once, would too.
