Follow Adria Arjona's Career From a Witch to an Alien Queen
You have definitely seen her in something. Here is a guided tour through every Adria Arjona era, from a practical witch to a Star Wars mechanic to a battle-hardened sniper.
You have seen Adria Arjona in something. I would almost bet on it. The question people actually type is not 'who is she' but 'what do I know her from', and I have an answer that is more useful than a bare list.
Her face has been slipping into good things for a decade now, usually as the woman you wished had more scenes. Let me give you the map I wish someone had handed me, organized by the job she was doing, so you can find your way back to the version of her you already liked.
Start with the witch
The most useful starting point is Good Omens, the 2019 fantasy series based on the book by Neil Gaiman and Terry Pratchett. Arjona plays Anathema Device, a practical witch and occultist whose ancestor Agnes Nutter wrote a book of prophecies back in 1655 that everyone in the story is trying to get their hands on. She is warm, stubborn, and completely sure of herself, and she grounds a show that is otherwise full of angels and demons bickering about the apocalypse. If you saw her there first, that is why she feels familiar.
Before Good Omens, she had already played Dorothy Gale in the dark Oz retelling Emerald City and turned up in True Detective and Person of Interest. I mention those because they are usually the answer when someone insists they know her from something older, and the job was already the same then, finding the human in a story that could have stayed flat.
The mechanic everyone talks about
Then there is the role that made her name stick. In Andor, the Star Wars series that ran from 2022 to 2025, she plays Bix Caleen, a mechanic and salvage dealer on the planet Ferrix. It is the most grounded job in a franchise built on space wizards, and Arjona has said the emotional beats showrunner Tony Gilroy wrote for her were a genuine acting challenge she appreciated. I keep pointing people here first because Bix is the character that shows what she can do with silence, not just with lines.
The romantic lead and the scene stealer
Between the genre work, she kept doing comedy and drama. In Hit Man, Richard Linklater's 2023 romantic comedy, she plays Madison, and the whole movie leans on the chemistry between her and Glen Powell. In the 2022 Father of the Bride remake she is Sofia, and in Zoe Kravitz's Blink Twice she plays a woman whose getaway turns wrong. I would start with Hit Man if you want to watch her charm do the heavy lifting.
The action heroine, now and next
And then there is the turn toward action, which is exactly where the spike in searches comes from. In Onslaught, in U.S. theaters on September 4, 2026, she is Celeste, a former Army sniper and single mother fighting genetically engineered super-soldiers in a desert trailer park. After that comes Maxima, an alien queen, in Man of Tomorrow on July 9, 2027. She has said the Onslaught role genuinely scared her at first. I find that reassuring; an actor who is not scared by a hard part is probably not doing it right.
- One night: Andor, for the depth and the silence.
- One night: Hit Man, for the charm and the chemistry.
- One night: Onslaught, to meet the version of her the world is about to meet.
The nice thing about a career this varied is that there is no wrong door. Pick the job you like best, and she will be there doing it well. That is the whole point of the map.
