The 364 Days That Do Not Set Landman Season 3's Clock
The first two Landman seasons arrived almost exactly a year apart. That tidy coincidence is useful context, but Paramount+ has not announced a Season 3 date - and a calendar pattern is not a promise.
Two mid-November Sundays sit 364 days apart: November 17, 2024, and November 16, 2025. I think that is a lovely piece of calendar tidiness, and it explains why so many people treated another November as the obvious destination for Landman. But a pleasing pattern is not a production schedule. Paramount+'s current Season 3 guide says the show is renewed and labels the release date simply TBA.
That short answer can feel unsatisfying because it is short. I checked the studio material and the reporting behind the September chatter, though, and the useful answer is more precise: Season 3 exists as a renewed season, has one newly announced series regular, and has a reported production window. It does not yet have a Paramount+ premiere date. Keeping those three labels separate prevents an estimated window from hardening into a date that nobody has actually set.
The neat November coincidence
The first season premiered on November 17, 2024. The second premiered on November 16, 2025. Paramount+'s own current guide puts those dates side by side, which makes the near-anniversary impossible to miss. TV Guide's June overview noticed the same 364-day gap and treated it as the basis for an expectation, not an official commitment. That is the right distinction. A past cadence can make a future date plausible; it cannot create one.
This is not pedantry about a streaming calendar. A date changes what a reader can plan around. An anniversary shows something charming about how the first two launches lined up. A release notice tells us when a platform intends to make episodes available. Only the second one deserves to go in a calendar reminder.
The Season 3 status, in plain labels
- Renewal
- Confirmed. Paramount+ announced a third season on December 5, 2025.
- New casting
- Confirmed. Paramount announced Michael Kelly as William Crockett, a Season 3 series regular, on September 9, 2026.
- Production timing
- Reported by cast member James Jordan as a September 2026 start running through the first quarter of 2027.
- Premiere date
- Not announced by Paramount+ as of September 13, 2026.
What has actually been announced
The firmest item came first. In its December 5, 2025 renewal release, Paramount+ said Landman would return for a third season. That is a real decision, not fan inference. On September 9, the studio added a second concrete item: Michael Kelly will join as William Crockett, described as the leader of the world's largest oil management firm. Both announcements move the season from an abstract promise toward a made thing. Neither gives it a viewing date.
Paramount+'s September 10 guide is unusually helpful because it refuses to decorate the blank space. It lists renewal, Kelly's role and exclusive Paramount+ streaming, then says the release date is TBA. Because that guide arrived after the September 9 casting release, it is a current status page rather than an old placeholder. That plain wording deserves more weight than a headline that converts an older November pattern into a certainty. The studio gets to make the date official.
The September information is a production signal
The report driving most of the current discussion came from James Jordan, who plays Dale Bradley. In an August 2 interview, Jordan said the team would start sometime in September and shoot through the first quarter of the next year. He also said he did not know when the season would be out, because that decision was up to the people in charge. That is useful firsthand production context, but it is not a release announcement wearing a hard hat.
Jordan later floated a hope that the old holiday window might still be possible if the work moved quickly. He explicitly framed it as hope rather than inside information in a separate August 28 interview. I like that bit of candor. It gives fans permission to enjoy the possibility without mistaking it for a booking.
Why the old clock cannot do the new job
There is a tempting little equation here: two autumn premieres plus a fast-moving production team equals a third autumn premiere. The trouble is that the inputs are no longer identical. Coverage of Jordan's reported schedule places filming across the September 2026 to early-2027 period, while the current official guide still declines to name a debut. CinemaBlend's September 2 account makes a reasonable inference from the earlier seasons, but it also calls its spring-2027 idea unconfirmed. I would keep it in the possible drawer, not the calendar.
| Date | What changed | What it does not tell us |
|---|---|---|
| December 5, 2025 | Paramount+ renewed the series for Season 3. | The premiere day or month. |
| September 9, 2026 | Paramount announced Michael Kelly's Season 3 role. | How Crockett fits into the plot, or when viewers will meet him. |
| September 10, 2026 | Paramount+'s guide summarized the known Season 3 facts. | A date - it still says TBA. |
The answer worth keeping
Here is the answer I would want a bookmark to preserve: Landman Season 3 is renewed, will stream on Paramount+, and has begun to add confirmed cast. Its release date remains unannounced. A reported September production start is evidence that work is moving, not evidence that a particular November or 2027 day has been chosen.
The 364-day gap is still a nice little piece of television symmetry. It earned a smile from me. The next meaningful change will be a Paramount+ release announcement, the line that turns patient interest into a plan. Until then, the pattern is better treated as a coincidence with excellent timing than a clock anybody should follow.
