Corrections

Write to info@joyfultake.com with the article link and what is wrong. You do not need to be polite about it, and you do not need to prove anything first. A rough pointer is enough for us to go check.

What happens next

1. We check the claim against the original sources, and against anything newer.
2. If it is wrong, we fix it.
3. If it was right when published but the facts have since moved, we update the article and say what changed.
4. If it turns out to be right as written, we will tell you what it rests on so you can judge for yourself.

How a change appears on the page

The original publication time never disappears. When an article is materially revised, an updated time appears next to it, and both timestamps match the machine-readable data search engines read. Small fixes such as a typo or a broken link are made without a note. Anything that changes the meaning gets one.

We do not silently rewrite an article after the fact to make an earlier version look better than it was.

Removing an article

Occasionally the right answer is not a correction but a retraction. If an article should not have run, we will say so on the page rather than deleting it quietly, unless leaving it up would cause real harm to someone.

If an article is about you

Tell us. Requests from the actual subject of a piece go to the front of the queue, and we will look at accuracy, framing, and tone, not just the literal facts.
